In the summer of 2025, I had the opportunity to shoot aerial photography over LAX with Anthelion Helicopters. This was fascinating logistically - coordinating with the FAA, the LAX tower, the helicopter pilot, and following safety protocols while shooting at 2,500+ feet from a doorless helicopter. The creative challenge was interesting too: how could I make the familiar (in this case, the planes and runways and terminals) seem strange and new? I hope the photos show just how beautiful and bizarre an airport is when you get to see it from a whole new perspective. This project also opened my eyes to how much demand there is for high-quality aerial photography in maritime, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. It's a capability I'm actively building out for 2026.
